Zum Heimathafen is a design studio in Hamburg (Earth) that is specialised in a wide range of commercial and editorial illustrations, graphic design, screen printed posters and branding but in the end it’s just the moniker for the work of Alexander Hanke. The name translates into „To the home harbour“ and the name was born in 2007 somewhere in Tokyo after a 3 month long voyage through British Columbia and New Zealand. It translates more into a feeling like „wanderlust“, it is progress in itself like every creative job is a journey. I see myself as an explorer and story teller in visual communication. Numerous clients trusted my navigational skills for over a decade now so if you have a project in mind and you’ need a partner in crime, just let me know.
